Our story
The 4 Paniers court in Yopougon is an iconic place in Ivorian basketball and a true breeding ground for talent.
For years, former players and passionate supporters of the 4 Paniers dreamed of building a real sports organisation, giving young people from the neighbourhood structured coaching and the chance to represent their community in official competitions.
That ambition became reality with the creation of Yopougon Basketball Association 4 Paniers (Yop 4P), through the takeover of the former Flight Basketball Club (FBC), whose transfer was approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting on 29 June 2024.
Yop 4 Paniers was born with a clear goal: to turn the exceptional potential of the 4 Paniers into a genuine sporting, educational and human development project.
Our mission
To identify, train, coach and support young basketball players, from learning the fundamentals all the way to competition.
Our ambition goes beyond the court: we use basketball as a tool for education and personal development, so that our young people become better athletes, but also responsible, independent people able to succeed at school and in life.
Our vision
To make Yop 4 Paniers a benchmark for basketball development in Côte d'Ivoire, and to build an environment where talent from Yopougon and beyond can reach its full potential.
Our goal is not only to develop good basketball players: we want to help shape the men and women of tomorrow.

In the heart of Yopougon, the club gives young people a structured, supervised environment. Basketball fills their time, gives them goals and role models, and keeps them away from drugs and other vices.

Basketball and school success
Playing basketball must never come at the expense of school. We encourage our young people to pursue excellence both in sport and in the classroom: basketball builds focus, decision-making, self-confidence, time management and responsibility.
When a young player struggles at school, parents and club staff work together to better balance school, homework, rest and basketball. Basketball should support a young person's success, never stand in the way of their education.
Working with parents
Parents are essential partners in our project. The club meets with them regularly to discuss their children's progress, behaviour, attendance, schooling, competitions and club activities.
When the player, the parents and the club work together, young people have a far better environment in which to succeed.
